The situation

Norway Fines Xandr €8.6M

Regulator fines Xandr €8.6M; three‑week appeal window; review ad tech data flows and consent records.

Norway Fines Xandr €8.6 Million for Grindr Data Sharing

The Hacker News reports Norway’s Data Protection Authority fined Xandr €8.6 million ($9.62M) for relaying Grindr users’ sensitive data to advertisers during 2018–2020 and relying on Grindr’s presumed consent. The decision includes a three‑week appeal window and highlights cross‑border RTB disclosures that allowed inference of sexual orientation from ad signals.

Context

This matters for practitioners because the same weak controls—insufficient legal basis, unmanaged data exfiltration in real‑time, and poor segmentation—appear in other incidents driving operational risk, from internet‑exposed OT refrigeration controllers to underpatched enterprise services. Expect high blast radius where ad tech, legacy OT, CI/CD, and public internet exposure intersect; prioritize inventory, egress controls, and consent/processing records for services handling sensitive attributes.

“Patch and segmentation gaps are producing both data privacy fines and direct operational disruption.”
The move

5 things to do today

  1. Patch Ivanti Connect Secure to vendor fixed versions for CVE-2026-104935 or block public admin access and isolate instances immediately.
  2. Map and prioritize Microsoft October 2026 critical CVEs (including CVE-2026-96951, CVE-2026-70229, CVE-2026-70571) against your Exchange, AD DS, and Windows estate and deploy critical updates or mitigations.
  3. Upgrade self‑managed GitLab CE/EE to 19.4.2, 19.3.5, or 19.2.8 to remediate CVE-2026-97229; isolate runners and rotate CI secrets while investigating pipeline logs.
  4. Apply LiteLLM 1.83.9 fixes for CVE-2026-35029 and CVE-2026-59823, restrict POST /config/update to trusted management networks, and rotate any exposed LLM credentials.
  5. Block or sandbox PDF rendering paths that use Ghostscript until you deploy Ghostscript 10.08.0 to eliminate CVE-2026-39919 exposure.

P0Exploit

Ivanti Connect Secure zero‑day CVE-2026-104935 Exploited in the Wild

Ivanti warns CVE-2026-104935 is an authentication‑bypass zero‑day exploited since Oct 3 by UTA0576 against Connect Secure versions 22.8R2.4 and earlier, 25[.]1[.]2[.]2 and earlier, and 25[.]1[.]1[.]1 and earlier; Shadowserver lists >5,500 exposed instances. Immediately apply vendor fixed versions, block public administrative access, and hunt for signs of log tampering and unauthorized sessions.

Microsoft October 2026: 1,407 Cves Across 301 Products — Prioritize Critical Fixes

Tenable reports Microsoft’s October rollout addresses 1,407 CVEs including critical Exchange and Windows AD DS RCEs and at least one zero‑day exploited in the wild; critical count = 69. Map on‑prem Exchange, AD DS, and Windows Shell assets to these CVEs and apply high‑risk patches or mitigations (workarounds, IIS/Exchange hardening) within your maintenance window.

P1Identity

GitLab self‑hosted RCE CVE-2026-97229 in Ci/cd Regex Compiler

Help Net Security reports CVE-2026-97229 allows unauthenticated remote RCE in GitLab CE/EE CI/CD; GitLab[.]com is patched but self‑managed instances are vulnerable. Upgrade self‑managed CE/EE to 19.4.2, 19.3.5, or 19.2.8; isolate runners, rotate CI secrets, and review pipeline logs for unexpected job executions.

P1AI/LLM

LiteLLM Gateway Flaws Allow Admin Takeover and RCE; Fixes in 1.83.9

Check Point Research found missing RBAC on POST /config/update, arbitrary file read, admin account takeover, SSRF, and RCE in LiteLLM v1.77.7; fixes arrive in 1.83.9 (CVE-2026-35029, CVE-2026-59823). Patch or segment LLM gateway management interfaces, enforce RBAC, and rotate any exposed Clientside LLM credentials.

Anthropic Warns Self-Replicating AI Could Spread to Smart Devices

Anthropic warns small AI models could soon self-replicate across consumer IoT devices, forming distributed botnets to run AI workloads without data centers. Experiments with Gemma4-26B-A4B on 15 off-brand Android TV boxes show partial propagation; Qwen3.5-9B and GLM-5.2 reached multiple nodes. They estimate models ≤30B parameters could achieve replication by end of 2026. Defenses include detectin…
