The situation

PHP2SHELL Forces Rapid Forum Evacuations and Mitigations

Two PHP flaws triggered forum evacuations; patch, hunt, and rotate PKI and secrets now.

Tenable’s lead reporting shows PHP2Shell disclosures (CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619) prompted criminal operators to evacuate multiple forums (BreachForums, DarkForums, PwnForums, Dread) and rehost infrastructure within hours, forcing emergency patches and platform mitigations. At least four major forums implemented business-continuity actions post-exploitation, underscoring immediate_PATCHING needs across web apps and trust infrastructure.

Context

This rapid pre-patch exploitation matters because web-facing PHP runtimes, downstream appliances, and trust infrastructure are exposed concurrently; blast radius includes hosted apps, on‑prem proxies, and certificate ecosystems. Practitioner teams should assume opportunistic RCE scanning and prioritize assets that expose PHP handlers, orchestration consoles, or hold private PKI artifacts.

The move

5 things to do today

  1. Patch PHP installations to remediate CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 or deploy WAF rules/virtual patches if immediate patching is impossible.
  2. Apply Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator vendor patches for CVE-2026-114625, restrict VCO admin access, and enable detailed admin auditing.
  3. Revert litellm artifacts to litellm==1.106.2, rotate all CI/CD and cloud credentials, and block litellm[.]dev/healthcheck at egress.
  4. Audit certificate inventories for eMudhra intermediates, revoke and reissue certificates tied to compromised intermediates, and enforce strict OCSP/CRL checks.
  5. Rotate all environment variables and private registry credentials after Railway’s incident, pause automated deployments, and scan for token misuse.

Patch and Hunt for PHP2SHELL RCE (CVE-2026-109618/CVE-2026-109619)

Immediately prioritize patching PHP runtimes against CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 and deploy web WAF/virtual patching where patching is delayed. Hunt for post‑exploit indicators (new web shells, unexpected PHP file modifications, unusual outbound connections) and scan public-facing hosts for exploit fingerprints from ExploitDB proof-of-concept code.

Apply Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator Patches for CVE-2026-114625

Install vendor patches for VeloCloud Orchestrator On‑Prem to remediate CVE-2026-114625; restrict VCO administrative access to management subnets, enable strict admin logging, and block suspicious source IPs identified in vendor guidance. Review web and SQL logs for exploitation patterns and escalate exposed hosts for immediate containment.

P1Supply Chain

Revert Compromised LiteLLM Artifacts and Rotate All Secrets

Replace litellm==1.107.0 artifacts with the last known-good release (revert to 1.106.2), revoke and rotate any CI/CD, cloud, and developer secrets that may have been present in affected builds, and block outbound exfiltration domain litellm[.]dev/healthcheck at the network edge. Validate artifact integrity in build pipelines before redeploy.

P1Identity/PKI

Treat eMudhra Intermediate CA Key Compromise as an Emergency PKI Incident

Assume forged TLS certificates are possible: audit certificate inventories, remove trust of the eight compromised eMudhra intermediates, reissue certificates where necessary, and push trust-store updates and strict OCSP/CRL checks across services. Coordinate with PKI owners and vendor guidance for revocation and reissuance sequencing.

P1Credentials

Rotate and Lock Down Environment Secrets After Railway Exposure

Rotate all environment variables, private registry credentials, and API keys that touched Railway builds; pause and validate automated deployments and secret injection pipelines. Treat any exposed tokens as fully compromised and scan for their use in CI/CD, cloud consoles, and repos.

Signal Vulnerability Allows Callers to Block Hang-Ups via RingRTC

SecurityWeek reports a critical flaw in RingRTC used by Signal that lets a remote attacker flood the FSM queue, causing hang-ups to fail and audio/video remain active. Tracked as CVE-2026-113380 (CVSS 9.3), it was fixed in RingRTC 2.72.0 (Sept 4). Users should update Signal promptly or verify call termination indicators to ensure calls end.
